In a shocking incident, a woman in Kerala was gangraped by four men in Kozhikode. The survivor is a 32-year-old woman and a native of Kollam. The police arrested two accused, Ajnas and Fahad, in the case on Thursday, September 10 and is on the lookout for the other two. The woman sustained injuries and has been admitted to a private hospital in Kozhikode. The New Indian Express reported that a case under section 376D of the Indian Penal Code and the IT Act has been registered by the Chevayur police. Ajnas, a native of Atholi in Kozhikode, had befriended the woman through TikTok two years ago (before it was banned in the country). He had called the woman to Kozhikode on Thursday. Fahad and Ajnas picked up the woman from the railway station and took her to a flat in Chevayur, where the crime took place, according to the police. The police said that Ajnas’s friends had occupied another room, and Ajnas and the friends raped the woman. The men also reportedly gave her alcohol and drugged her, and reportedly filmed the crime as well. The accused shifted the woman to a hospital when she developed breathlessness, fearing that she would die, and then immediately left the hospital. Hospital authorities informed the police about the crime. The police identified the accused from the statement of the woman who named all four, but the police hasn’t disclosed the details of the two accused who are still at large. According to Manorama News, Kozhikode North Assistant Commissioner of Police Sudrasan said the woman informed that she was given drugs in a cigarette, and said she was in a "half-conscious state" due to this.
